The Prophet Joseph Smith’s life was foretold in scriptures and he was foreordained to his calling. Several Old Testament prophets were translated for a particular purpose by God in re-establishing the gospel in latter days. We should not be surprised that prophets were sent to bear witness of the Saviors early beginning on the earth. It is part of the “law of witness’s” that by two or three witnesses, every WORD shall be established. It has been so from the beginning of time to the present. To think that this event of eternal importance to all of God’s children would be left to men of ordinary background is inconceivable. This was a calling for prophets who were accustomed to receiving revelation and that were directed when to begin their journey. They also understood that in presenting to the King of Heaven &amp; Earth, that those gifts were symbols of his life and death. <BR/><BR/>I had a one on one discussion with an Apostle after reading this book a few years ago. He asked if I thought it was correct and why. He then said, “Gods purposes shall be accomplished, and every detail concerning His Son had meaning and purpose, including those who came at the meridian of time with Melchizedek priesthood power and authority to Bethlehem”. <BR/><BR/>This book has brought a change to my life. Being in Jerusalem last year and looking onto Bethlehem with the stars shinning overhead swelled my eyes with tears and my soul with the knowledge that Father in Heaven and the Savior are truly involved in the details of our lives also. It makes perfect sense, another "mystery" unveiled by the Book of Mormon. Not too many people pay close attention to 3 Nephi 1 when the prophet who had been so faithful in prophesying of the Messiah disappeared at the time of Christ's birth. Also, not many people can explain who the wisemen were and what their significance is in the Christmas story.
